About
Who is behind Similia
Similia builds software that makes classical homeopathic literature usable — for professionals at their desks, and for people at home on their phones.
Two products, one library
SIMILIA LTD, a London-registered company, builds two products on the same foundation of classical texts. Similia is the professional platform — repertory search, materia medica, and case tools for practitioners and students. Similia Home Prescriber, the app this site is about, is the consumer product: a plain-language way for people at home to ask what the classical literature says about everyday, self-limiting complaints.
How Home Prescriber reasons
A session has three steps. You describe how you feel in your own words. The app asks a small number of adaptive follow-up questions — the kind of distinguishing questions the classical authors used to tell similar remedy pictures apart. It then shows a suggested remedy with the reasoning: which features of your description matched which traditional remedy picture. The suggestion is drawn from an indexed library of classical materia medica, and the reasoning is written so you can check it against the sources yourself:
- Boericke, Pocket Manual of Homoeopathic Materia Medica
- Kent, Repertory of the Homoeopathic Materia Medica
- Hahnemann, Organon of Medicine (1906 Boericke & Tafel translation)
The app is available on iOS and Android in 11 languages (English, Italiano, Español, Français, Deutsch, Português, Русский, Polski, Български, Română, Ελληνικά). Your first consultation is free; Similia Pro ($9.99/month or $99.99/year, US pricing) unlocks unlimited sessions and the remedy cabinet.
Editorial and safety rules we hold ourselves to
- Informational, never diagnostic. Similia suggests remedies from traditional literature. It does not diagnose, treat, or replace professional medical advice — and every page of this site and the app says so.
- Explicit boundaries. Serious, persistent, or worsening symptoms — and situations involving infants, pregnancy, or nursing — belong with a qualified healthcare practitioner. Red-flag symptoms mean medical care first.
- No efficacy claims. We describe what the classical literature associates with a remedy picture. We do not claim clinical outcomes.
- Checkable sources. Guides cite the public-domain editions linked above rather than asking for faith in a black box.
- Corrections welcome. If you find a factual or classical-accuracy error anywhere on this site, write to info@similia.io and we will fix it.
Privacy stance
Session data in the app is stored encrypted and is never sold or shared with advertisers. We do not run third-party analytics or tracking on health data. This website uses cookieless, aggregate-only page analytics. Details are in the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
